Students can opt to transfer and/ or complete their studies in Australia after a trimester completion. Student who transfers to Australia will be required to pay tuition fees applicable on-campus at the time of commencement at The University of Newcastle.

Admission Requirements

 The University of Newcastle, Australia Degree Programme

● GCE A Level (Minimum 3 subjects in H2 level or 2 subjects at H2 level and up to 2 subjects at H1 level); OR
● 3-year Diploma from Singapore’s Polytechnic; OR
● PSB Academy Diploma in Media and Communications; OR
● Other diploma or equivalent qualification would be assessed on a case by case basis

Applicants with Diplomas or Advanced Diplomas in related studies from polytechnics or other recognised institutions may be considered for advance standing into the Year 2 courses. Click here to find out more on your eligibility. 

Language proficiency

  • All Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the University’s English proficiency requirement. Applicants who do not speak English as a first language must demonstrate that they meet the University's English proficiency requirement through one of the following methods:
    English Language Tests
    1. GCSE – English Language or Literature
        IGCSE – A level English or Humanities
        Overall Scores: Minimum Grade C
    2. IETLS Academic
        Overall Scores: 6.5
        Individual Skills Test: Section minimum 6.0 R/L/S/W
    3. TOEFL PB
        Overall Scores: 550
        Individual Skills Test: TWE: 4.5
    4. TOEFL IBT
        Overall Scores: 79-93
        Individual Skills Test: R: 19-23, L: 20-23, S: 20-22 and Writing 24-26
    5. PTE Academic
         Overall Scores: 58-64
         Individual Skills Test: Section Minimum 61
    6. PSB CEP Level 5 (Advanced English Program)
        Students must obtain 65% or more in 3 of the 4 exams. Only one exam may be in the 60-64% range.
