Support for International Students
As an international student in Singapore, we understand you may face various issues that can feel quite overwhelming at times.
At PSB Academy, we are fully aware of your needs and welfare. As a premier institution, we believe your happiness and peace of mind are crucial in ensuring a fruitful and memorable learning experience.
We offer pre-arrival advice and assistance to prepare you before you arrive in Singapore, so you know what to expect and what to do.
Our Student Affairs will help you to settle into your life in Singapore, and support you throughout your studies with us. Through a broad array of social and recreational activities, we hope to make you feel more at home.
Your home country support agent or our Country Managers will be able to render assistance to you to prepare for academic life in Singapore.
It is important to know immigration requirements to plan for smooth travel before you come to Singapore. You must have passport with 6 months validity to travel abroad.
Applying Student Pass
All international students must apply study pass. For new student pass applicants, PSB Academy will help you to apply for Student Pass through E-form 16 (ICA Form 16). New applications are to be submitted at least 2 months and not more than 6 months from the course commencement date.
New applications by Public Republic of China nationals, who are above 19 years old (i.e, passed their 19th birthday at the time their applications are submitted to ICA) and wish to attend a language, commercial, vocational or fine arts non-graduate/postgraduate degree course [including the University of London (UOL) tuition programmes], will be routed to the Singapore Embassy in Beijing (where an interview with the applicant may be required) for processing before routing to ICA for assessment. The applications will be routed directly to ICA for assessment if the PRC nationals are intending to take up a full-time course at an approved PEO that is awarded the 4 years EduTrust Star/EduTrust status.
A processing fee of $30 is required for every application submitted to ICA. The fee is non-refundable regardless of the outcome of the application or if application is withdrawn after submission.
The general processing time for a new application is about 4 weeks [2 weeks for PEOs that are awarded the 4 years EduTrust Star/EduTrust status] upon the receipt of a duly completed application by ICA. Some applications may however take a longer time to process.
*Applicants are advised to enter Singapore to complete the formalities for the issuance of a Student’s Pass only after their applications have been approved. They will be issued with Student’s Passes within one month from the course commencement date.
In Principal Approval (IPA) Letter
Upon successful approval of Student Pass Application, IPA letter will be issued by Immigration Checkpoint Authority (ICA). Print out IPA letter and passport with minimum 6 months validity is vital to bring along before your departure to Singapore.

We understand the challenges that international students face while studying and living in Singapore. Students may feel homesick from time to time and it often helps to connect with someone who cares for them. They may also experience personal challenges that require understanding, assistance or support.
Our professional in-house counsellor is available to listen, discuss and assist students during such difficulties. Students can talk in a confidential and friendly environment, and this service is available free for all students.
Disability Support is a service specifically for students who have been formally diagnosed with learning, physical, medical or psychiatric difficulties (temporary or permanent). The aim of this service is to support students in terms of accessibility and adjustments in classroom learning and assessment, while meeting the inherent requirements of their study programme.
To access this service, students need to provide appropriate documents regarding the disability and discuss with our counsellor the types of support needed. Our counsellor will assess the needs and recommend the adjustments that may be provided.
We understand the need for support and assistance when students fall ill and require hospitalisation. Especially for international students who have limited family and social support in Singapore, our Medical Support staff will visit students in the hospital, keep contact with students and their family, and provide the necessary support.
