Overview

Introduction

Biomedical science is the study of the human body, its structure and function in health and disease. Biomedical scientists require an understanding of medical biochemistry, microbiology, pharmacology, cell and molecular biology, physiology, infectious diseases and neuroscience.

This programme aims to give you a thorough understanding of human disorders and their underlying molecular basis. Subjects you'll cover are broadly similar to the pre-clinical components of medicine and dentistry.

Delivery Mode

Lectures, tutorials and project assignments will be conducted within PSB Academy campus.  

Some modules may be delivered by our university partners’ teaching staff in an intensive block mode.

Minimum Number of Students Before a Class Commences

Minimum 25 students are required before commencement of classes.

Admission Requirements

The admission requirements are:

  • GCE ‘A’-Levels minimum 8 in total for the best 3 subjects or STPM 8.67 in total for the best 3 academic subjects OR
  • Local Science-related diploma in relevant areas OR

  • Local Engineering diploma with Calculus Mathematics background and has a ‘C’ average grade may be considered OR

  • PSB Academy Foundation Diploma in Life Sciences with an average ‘C’ grade, with a grade no lower than 'D' in any of the units; other than Chemistry where a minimum 'C' grade is required.

English Language Requirement

  • And GCE 'O' or ‘A’ level English C or above or equivalent; OR
  • IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0 with no individual band score less than 6.0 OR
  • TOEFL Paper-based Test - a minimum overall score of 550 with a score of 5 or more in the Test of Written English OR
  • TOEFL Internet-based Test - a minimum overall score of 60 with a minimum for SLR 18; W 22 OR
  • Pearson Test of English (Academic) (PTE) Minimum score of 57 with no communicative skill score less than 50.
