Strength and Conditioning Coach

Strength and conditioning coaches work with athletes to improve their performance by developing and overseeing training programmes.

Jovinus Ong, a sports science graduate at PSB Academy, found his passion for sports science through his own experiences with sports injuries and the realisation of the importance of proper training. He now works as a Strength and Conditioning Coach at Evolve MMA, where he conducts specialised classes to enhance the performance of martial artists in Muay Thai, Boxing and Brazilian Jiu-jitsu while ensuring proper technique to prevent injuries.

Sports Coach

Sports coaches work with athletes to improve their performance and strategy by developing and overseeing training programmes.

Bryan Yong, a sports science graduate at PSB Academy, has had an inspiring journey to become an Academy Fitness Coordinator at Johor Darul Ta’zim Football Club (JDT FC). Before graduating in 2016, Bryan obtained coaching licenses and gained experience by coaching amateur teams and conducting one-on-one training sessions. Obtaining a sports science qualification at PSB Academy enabled him to land his first professional coaching job at Melaka United Soccer Association, and he’s never looked back since.

Physical Therapist

Physical therapists use their knowledge to help patients recover from injuries and improve their physical health. They can work with members of the general public or athletes.

Jasmine Yap, an alumna of PSB Academy’s Diploma in Sport and Exercise Sciences, found a role as a Rehabilitation Specialist after graduation. In her role, she collaborates with physiotherapists to facilitate muscle recovery therapy through various methods such as hot heal, shockwave, decompression, myofascial release, and trigger point release. Her education at PSB Academy has been instrumental in navigating the complexities of human anatomy and understanding patient behaviours, which are crucial in her daily interactions and treatments. With the foundational knowledge from her diploma, Jasmine is eager to further her studies in sports science at PSB Academy, with the ultimate aim of becoming a physiotherapist.

A sports nutritionist provides dietary advice to enhance athletic performance and develop nutrition plans that meet the specific needs of individuals. They work with sports teams, individual athletes, or wellness centres, focusing on optimising diet for performance and health.

James Yeo, a Sports Science graduate has worked with several high-performance athletes, where he would analyse their individual needs and tailor their nutrition plans to align with the specific demands of their training. His education at PSB Academy has helped to deepen his understanding of the human body.
