As a firm believer in lifelong learning, higher education increases our knowledge and widens our perspectives. At the current stage of my career and life, I felt that this was the right timing to invest in a new learning experience. My actions serve as an inspiration to my children in demonstrating the value of determination in achieving a lifetime goal.

In 2015, under my company sponsorship programme, I was recommended to take a business diploma at PSB Academy. As I was researching for a business degree to progress on during my diploma programme, I found out about the various partner universities at PSB Academy, one of them being Edinburgh Napier University (ENU). I felt that PSB Academy programmes are pretty established and recognised internationally as compared to other institutions. The main deciding factor that motivated me to continue my degree with PSB Academy was the reduced programme duration. I was able to complete my degree in a shorter time due to my business diploma. Other contributing factors include the programme’s relevancy to my career, the familiarity and understanding of PSB Academy’s operations, which provided a seamless enrolment process.

Both PSB Academy and ENU curriculums were relevant to the industry, and they have enhanced my business knowledge and allowed me to better contribute to my career. I cannot emphasise enough that the curriculums are well-designed as they provide sufficient depth and breadth. My learning experience was great as the journey had been seamless. I’m grateful to be able to meet people from various professions during the course and expand my networking experience, which is beneficial to my career.

As the Head of Department for Service Division, I am responsible for my company’s aftersales business and operation. This business degree has further developed my understanding of international business and allowed me to make more precise and informed decisions. The advanced business knowledge has also given me an in-depth understanding of managing the business strategically and maximising revenue for my company with better decision-making skills. With other relevant knowledge, I am also able to apply and contribute better to different areas, including Human Resource and Finance management. With these newfound skill sets, I believe that I am able to make better-informed decisions as part of the executive management.
