Diploma in Media and Communications,
PSB Academy
I was upset with my results after ITE. I graduated from ITE with a borderline 3.0GPA and was unable to get into the courses I wanted in polytechnic. I looked for a way forward and was introduced to PSB Academy from a friend who previously studied Media and Communications at PSB Academy.
After doing my own research and speaking to friends, I felt that PSB Academy had a good reputation and a respectable Media and Communications diploma.
I have always been fascinated with video and audio creation and I aimed to begin a career in that industry. Even though I graduated from ITE with an Accounting certificate, I was accepted into the Diploma in Media and Communications at PSB Academy. Due to my passion in this area to lead me towards a career in the video and sound arts scene, I did well in my studies and graduated which gave me a lot of hope in pursuing my dreams.
Overall, I had a very enjoyable time in class. Some weeks did not feel very cramped and rush, which made assignment submissions easier to achieve. I was able to balance both my personal, family life, and schoolwork well. During my course of study, I was taught how to handle camera equipment and the day-to-day tasks of being part of a film crew. I believe these are very useful skills that I can apply in my future career path as I hope to be in this field of work.
My lecturers, Mr Bobby and Mr Saleem Hadi, were probably the two most engaging and inspiring lectures throughout my journey at PSB Academy. As much as students are supposed to be attentive to the lecturers, Mr Bobby and Mr Saleem were attentive to us as well when it comes to correcting and guiding us.
Studying in a private institution did not put me at a disadvantage. Most jobs, I feel, look into our willingness to learn new things and they will guide us from there. Schools mainly provide us with the knowledge to prepare us for the workforce.
I will definitely recommend PSB Academy to my friends and family who are planning to further their studies.
