“When you have lecturers that show a deep passion for imparting knowledge, it inherently ignites the inquisitiveness in you to learn more sooner or later.”

That would be Bernard Lim’s answer if you were to ask him the reason behind his postgraduate certification pursuit. He admits that it is hectic to hold a full-time job on top of a postgraduate curriculum but the lecturers at PSB Academy had reignited his desire to continue learning once again. For Bernard, learning is a lifelong journey. Graduating from college and getting a first job might be the end goal for some, but Bernard had always considered pursuing postgraduate studies sometime in his working life. It was a natural next step towards broadening skillsets after settling down into his current position as a Director of Operations Quality at AMS Sensors Singapore.

“Being in the Quality Management line throughout my working career naturally leads me to an MSc in Engineering Business Management”, Bernard shares. Such a specialization aligns with Bernard’s career goals and aspirations as it provides him to deepen his skillsets and knowledge. The sacrifices and dedication Bernard poured into his postgraduate studies was a worthwhile investment. He saw returns in the form of likeminded peers that he was able to grow his professional network with and sought valuable advices and perspectives from.

His parting advice for those who are still on the fence about taking on postgraduate studies, “Education is a powerful tool and can change the course of one’s thinking. The various subjects taught, and final dissertation brought me to a higher understanding and strengthened my application in the workplace. My confidence has been increased tenfold.”
