I initially wanted to pursue an HR degree, but the programme consultant recommended me the Business and Marketing degree with Coventry University as it was related to my business diploma. I also liked that the campus was conveniently located at Marina Square.

As a sales executive in my current company, I have to generate and achieve my sales target. I have picked up advanced knowledge on Marketing Mix, Product Marketing, Content Marketing. Through these modules, I have learned to identify my company’s market positioning, to reach out to our company’s target audience. I have also honed my critical thinking and communication skills. This allows me to present my ideas on generating sales, which they have taken in positively.

All these could only be possible with the help of knowledgeable lecturers, specifically Ms Salitha and Dr Melissa Liow. They have been very supportive and patient throughout my student journey, offering industry insight. They were like a living encyclopaedia.

Initially, there were concerns that holding a private degree would put me at a disadvantage compared to graduates from autonomous universities. But after I graduated, I went through multiple job interviews before I found my current one. I am thankful that the degree has helped me in my job and allowed me to achieve great results. To me, that’s the most important for me.

Not all journeys are easy and straightforward, but I’m glad I have made it!
