My journey in PSB Academy started in 2010 after I heard about the school from a friend who was studying there at that time. What attracted me to PSB Academy was the flexible schedule, which I found to be manageable, and the course offering was attuned to the nature of my job. Furthermore, the organisation I work for recognised PSB Academy as an academic institution. Thus, granting me 50% reimbursement of the total course fees after my diploma graduation.

Fast track to today, I continued my degree in Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Business and Marketing at Coventry University. With a relevant diploma, I could progress directly into year 2 of this programme, allowing me to graduate faster.

The technical skills such as writing, research, problem-solving and project management have proven to be particularly useful and relevant, especially in my day-to-day task. Specifically, the modules in this programme, such as management and leadership, have not only imparted me with valuable skills but also helped me improve myself as an individual, which has also aided me in my career progression.

Besides that, I have also met really great lecturers like Mr Ng Siah Heng. He made classes interactive and engaging with various methods and platforms that helped the class learn enjoyably. I appreciate how he would go out of his way to help us understand the concepts better while guiding us through our assignments.

As a civil servant, I am aware of the private education stigma. While I cannot speak for the majority, but from my experience, studying in a private education institution did not put me at a disadvantage when finding a job in the government sector. This stigma is slowly unravelling to be untrue as private education institutions continue to be gradually recognised by some government sectors, which has further encouraged career progression in individuals who graduated from these schools.

That said, I recommend PSB Academy to my family and friends or to anyone who wants to pursue their studies while working. Overall, it is an academic institution with great lecturers and a flexible curriculum!
