Were there any technical skills you acquired that were particularly useful/relevant?

Technical skills such as programming python, SQL databases, and networking have benefited me greatly.

Since I was taught programming in python and creating a simple game project, I was then able to expand my knowledge of JavaScript and assembly programming language. As some projects might need to merge all technical knowledge such as programming language for front end, back end, databases and etc to work fully.

On the other hand, in doing network reconnaissance for penetration testing, learning Networking was one of the next most beneficial module that has assisted me.

How has studying at PSB Academy allowed you to pursue your dreams

PSB Academy offered me a few modules compare to other education institutes but I believe these few modules are critical topics to be learned before entering a degree.

Modules such as programming, database handling, and manipulation, computer operating system, and Networking are basic essentials that are needed for a software engineer or other IT positions. PSB has also developed my foundational skills in order to expand my knowledge through other sources.

PSB Academy curriculum for a diploma in network defense and forensic countermeasures is quite sufficient for a cybersecurity student. It prepares us with basic fundamentals of networking, programming, computer general knowledge and etc. It help to achieve the certifications program and competitions outside PSB academy as I was already equipped with all the basic fundamentals taught in the diploma program. Other than academics, the courses have helped me to communicate with other people and even create wonderful projects with them. Both academic and social experiences I received from the courses have been very beneficial in my life.

What made you embark on your course/discipline?

I have had a passion for computers since I was 5 years old, and even taught my self how to create and change variables inside a program or code to get the intended result.

Initially, I wanted to pick a local university in Surabaya but none of the universities accepted me as they believed I was incompetent as a social student. This belief in science and social student boundaries has become an ideology that people hold even back in my high school. But this didn’t stop me from pursuing my dream.

Were there any lecturers that have inspired your learning at PSB Academy?

Mr. Syafiq has been one of several lectures who inspired my life. His advice in investing our time to connect and build great relationships with all people regardless of status and using LinkedIn as a platform for connecting with others has been the principles that I implement in my life. Mr. Ankit, Dr. Boon, Mr. Ronald, Mr. David, and other lectures have played an important role in my life as their actions have inspired me to be a better person.

Would you recommend PSB Academy to your family and friends?

Yes. PSB has great modules, opportunities, and experiences.
