When you were an undergraduate student, what were your plans upon graduation?

Hailing from Myanmar, I originally graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Yangon Technological University. As a believer of lifelong learning and the importance of developing a global mindset, I’ve always aspired to enrol in a postgraduate programme overseas. I’m proud to say that I made the right decision to take up a master’s degree with PSB Academy!

How has the Career Services and Engagement Team helped you get ready for the corporate world?

Firstly, I’m very touched by how sincere and personally invested everyone from the Career Services and Engagement Team is in my career development. The career coaches are very thorough and with their support, I’ve discovered the “Why” in my career – why a career is so important to me, why I should succeed, and what I should do to continually improve myself and be of value to the organisation that I serve.

How have you applied what we taught you in our career preparatory training to your current job?

The trainings I attended helped me to minimise my insecurities and transform into a more confident person. In fact, one of the most valuable skills that I learnt is to have ample preparation before every important meeting – including job interviews. I also learnt how to improve the way I articulate my ideas and to appear more confident when delivering my responses.

I’ve also benefited from the career preparatory trainings, which taught me networking skills to build strong connections with potential employers.

What advice do you have for current students as they decide what they want their next steps to be in their internships or careers?

Believe in yourself and invest in your continuous improvement. Tell yourself you can do it! During your free time, be sure to attend trainings organised by the Career Services team as this will help to miminise your challenges in preparing for a career.
