Bachelor of Arts Business Management (Top-up),
Edinburgh Napier University
As a working adult, the biggest push factor to pursue higher education is moving into an office role that would provide better prospects. The job hunt back then wasn’t easy despite having a few years of experience, and henceforth I decided to take up a Diploma to ease the burdens of job hunting.
I came across PSB Academy (PSBA) while researching for a suitable academy to continue my studies (Diploma). My journey with PSBA started with a Diploma in Business Administration. Taking a part-time course meant lessons were conducted at night, which was perfect for busy working professionals like myself.
After completing my diploma, I progressed to a Business Management Degree with Edinburgh Napier University (ENU). The top-up degree programme was very attractive as the course duration was only 1 year instead of the usual 3 – 4 years since the term breaks are shorter. Even though it’s only 1 year, the curriculum was delivered in a clear and concise manner. The lectures were recorded and could be accessed anytime, which helped me pace myself while juggling work, school, my toddler and pregnancy.
The lecturers were subject experts and would often bring industry insight to class not found in textbooks. They have also provided unwavering support during my time as a student, going over and beyond what they are called to do – specifically Dr John Heng, Dr Melissa Liow and Ms Salitha.
While PSBA may not be perfect, it is a good place for people looking to gain industry and textbook knowledge to grow in their careers. The modules are comparable and at the end of the day, it’s about how we apply the learning at work.
