Before embarking on your degree studies, what were some of the expectations you had?

To build both my technical and soft skills to be equipped to take on the challenges thrown at me by the corporate world in the future. Other expectations included building my knowledge base with insightful knowledge presented throughout the degree that I have yet to embark on. My secondary expectations included effective communication between classmates and lecturers to build formal/informal relationships that would assist me in my educational journey.

How did you find out about the University – UON?

A family member saw the advertisements online through various social media platforms and suggested that I have a look at them because I completed my secondary education and was looking to further my education.

Why did you choose to continue your studies with UON over the other university options?

The University of Newcastle, Australia is well accredited and established, upon further investigation I realised their prestigious world ranking. I took an immediate interest in the various bachelor’s degree options and found myself well suited to their Bachelor of Business programme. The modules were relevant to the 21st century corporate environment and upon beginning, the modules have exceeded my expectations.

How is your learning experience with PSB Academy & UON so far? Did the programme/Uni met your expectations shared in Question 1?

Upon in-depth exploration of the underlying modules, “I can gladly say that my learning journey exceeded my pre-evaluation expectations.” PSBA / UON provided an amazing opportunity for cross-cultural exchange by facilitating an environment that encouraged the intermingling of local and international students. The lecturers were hands-on and highly skilled which created a positive experience for me which I feel prospective students would enjoy upon joining the degree.

What are some of the skills/knowledge you have gained which you feel will be useful to have when you join the workforce?

The modules helped me to build my self-image and confidence through the various assigned projects. My confidence increased while presenting my project findings which allowed me to pull away from my comfort zone found within textbooks. My technical knowledge increased through acquiring knowledge in entrepreneurship, consumer behaviour, business venturing, management practices, and innovation. I feel these aspects as a business student are timeless and essential when joining the workforce.

Upon completion of your studies, what are your plans and what kind of job/ industry are you looking to explore?

Choosing to complete a Bachelor of Business leaves you spoilt for choice when majoring in marketing and management. My dreams and aspirations have drawn me towards Events Management, Sales, and Digital Marketing. My long-term goal after acquiring knowledge from various related business fields would include becoming an entrepreneur and leaving my mark on the corporate world.

How do you think UON degree will help you in your future career goals?

During my educational journey with The University of Newcastle, Australia, many modules were practical tasks present within the corporate world. The various learning milestones towards achieving my degree have presented me with some industrial knowledge. This knowledge will help in problem-solving, brainstorming and time management needed when working in my future roles.
