Some might say work experience is more important than academics when entering the corporate world. While work experience is essential, I believe having a degree is the key to more opportunities and better vocations, and this was my motivation to pursue higher education.
Recommended by my friend, I chose PSB Academy and Coventry University because the course offered shorter term breaks, which allowed me to complete my study within a shorter timeframe than other institutions. By completing my degree in a shorter timeframe, I can step into the corporate world earlier.
Even though the course duration is short, the syllabus was clear and concise. The lecturers created a positive environment that enabled us to enjoy learning. In addition, the professors were approachable and willing to spend extra hours assisting us in our assignments and dissertations after class. Their professionalism has inspired me. Not forgetting the City Campus provided a vibrant and collaborative learning environment, which I enjoyed the most.
As a finance executive, my primary responsibility is to monitor the status of trading facilities under various banks and worked out monthly budget plans within the group. The course helped me gain advanced accounting and finance knowledge to perform specific tasks given by the management. Apart from technical skills and knowledge, I have developed my leadership skills and learned how to plan and manage human resources. For example, during group assignments, I assigned and allocated tasks to the group members, which I am currently applying to my career. I have acquired critical thinking and interpersonal skills during my learning process, which I am using in the workplace and personal life.
