After spending ten years in my current job as an Administrative and Customer Service Officer, I realised it was time for a change. I had always been intrigued by the field of Human Resource Management, seeing it as the bridge between employees and employers. But making such a significant shift wasn’t easy, especially after a decade in one place.

Education has always been a key to unlocking new opportunities, so I decided to pursue a Diploma in Business Administration (Human Resource Management) at PSB Academy. I was inspired by the stories of alumni who had successfully transitioned their careers and improved their lives through further education. Their success stories resonated with me and fuelled my determination to make a change.

I’m grateful for PSB Academy’s part-time study mode which allowed those who work office hours like me, to continue working full-time while attending classes in the evenings. This flexibility was crucial, allowing me to gain new knowledge and skills without compromising my source of income.

Through my course, I’ve gained practical skills in problem-solving, communication, networking, time management, and teamwork. These skills are crucial in Human Resources, where working effectively with people is key. Knowing how to communicate and collaborate as a team puts me a step closer to my goal of having a career in Human Resources.

To anyone considering a career change or further education, my advice is simple. Whatever you want to do, do your best. When you put in your best effort, you won’t have any regrets, no matter the outcome. Embrace lifelong learning to upgrade yourself and dream bigger. If I can take the leap after ten years, so can you.
